Storm response A/R funding

Storm response A/R funding. For the crews who roll before the invoice exists.

Storm response A/R funding turns the invoices you bill to electric utilities, their primes and local governments for storm tree work and restoration support into immediate working capital, so crews, fuel and lodging are covered while you wait on their payment cycle.

What storm response A/R funding is

The power is back on. The invoice is still in accounts payable.

Storm response A/R funding, also called invoice factoring, is the sale of an approved invoice for completed storm work in exchange for an immediate cash advance. You receive a large portion of the invoice up front, and the remainder (less one fee) when your customer pays. A/R funding isn’t a loan.

When a major storm hits, utilities activate storm rosters and mutual-aid agreements and tree crews roll before anyone has invoiced. The work gets done in days; the invoice then moves through the utility’s or prime’s review and payment terms, and a town’s cleanup invoice may wait on a federal declaration that has not come. A/R funding closes that gap on the work you have already completed.

Terms vary by utility, prime and contract. A state emergency order does not change them.
Why storm response is built for A/R funding

The crews roll overnight. The payment cycle does not.

Utilities restore service with their own employees and with contractors, coordinated through regional mutual assistance groups, according to the Edison Electric Institute. Tree crews mobilize on short notice, work long days and invoice after the lines are clear.

Meanwhile crew payroll, fuel, hotel blocks, per diem and bucket truck and chipper costs are due immediately. Integra advances on the invoices you have already earned, without adding debt or pledging your fleet.

How storm response A/R funding works at Integra

From invoice to funded, same day.

A/R funding is not a loan. You are advancing cash on invoices you have already earned — not borrowing against them.

01
Step 1

Apply and get approved

Submit the short form. Approval depends primarily on your customers’ credit: the utility, prime, county or agency you bill. Free credit checks confirm your customers before you commit.

02
Step 2

Onboarding and setup

You provide standard documents and sign the agreement. We send a notice of assignment to each customer as your contract requires (for federal contracts, under the Assignment of Claims rules in FAR 32.8), set up your account, and introduce your specialists.

03
Step 3

Submit invoices, get paid

Upload approved invoices and the timesheets, equipment logs or work orders your customer requires. We verify and advance the funds the same business day when submitted before the cutoff. Your customer pays Integra on its own terms; you receive the remainder less one fee.

Why storm response contractors choose Integra

A bank division that understands utility and municipal billing.

01

Built for storm rosters and emergency contracts

We review your storm agreement or emergency contract, the invoice support your customer requires and any pay-when-paid terms from a prime before the first advance, so storm invoices are funded on the documents your customer pays on. We fund subcontractors to the major line-clearance and debris primes, subject to the prime’s subcontract terms and its acknowledgment of the assignment.

Notices of assignment go to the right office in the form your contract requires.

02

Backed by bank capital, not an outside line

Your facility is backed by bank capital, not an outside credit line that tightens after a quiet season.

Federal regulatory oversight and bank-examination standards are not typical of an independent A/R funding company.

03

Set up before the season, funded when you invoice

The best time to open a facility is before the next storm. Setup is a one-time step, so when crews roll you are invoicing into an account that is already in place.

No volume minimums, and you choose which invoices to fund.

Common questions

Answers to your storm response A/R funding questions.

The questions we hear most from storm contractors. If yours is not here, call Mark directly.

What is storm response A/R funding?

Storm response A/R funding is the sale of an approved invoice for completed storm work in exchange for an immediate cash advance. You receive a large portion of the invoice up front and the remainder, less one fee, when your customer pays. It is not a loan.

Do you fund invoices to electric utilities and cooperatives?

Yes, in most cases. Approval depends primarily on your customer’s credit. We run a free credit check on each utility before you commit and review the contract’s assignment and payment terms at setup.

My town hired us under a state emergency order. Is that invoice fundable?

Often, yes. A state of emergency is not a FEMA declaration, so the town is paying from its own budget on its own terms. Approval depends primarily on the town’s credit and the contract’s payment terms; whether a federal declaration follows does not change your invoice.

I work as a subcontractor to a prime. Can I still use A/R funding?

Often, yes. We fund subcontractors to the major line-clearance and debris primes, subject to the prime’s subcontract terms and its acknowledgment of the assignment. We look at the prime’s credit and any pay-when-paid language before setting up the facility.

What do I need to submit with each invoice?

Usually the invoice plus the support your customer requires, such as approved timesheets, equipment logs, crew-day reports or work orders. We confirm the exact package with you at setup.

How much does storm response A/R funding cost?

Pricing is a custom quote. It depends mainly on who your customers are, how long they take to pay and your invoice volume. Reach out with a few details and have your A/R aging and customer list handy; that is everything a custom quote needs. No obligation.
