The basics

What is freight factoring?

Freight factoring is the sale of a freight invoice to a funding company in exchange for immediate cash on a load you have already hauled.

It is not a loan. Integra buys your freight bills at a small fee and gives you the cash you need to run and grow your business. There is no added debt, no minimum monthly volume, and underwriting is based primarily on your customers’ credit, so new authorities qualify from day one.

Common questions

Straight answers about freight factoring.

What is freight factoring?

Freight factoring turns your unpaid customer invoices into cash the same day you deliver.Integra pays your invoice amount, less a small fee, instead of you waiting 30 or more days for the customer to pay. It is not a loan and does not affect your credit.

What documents do I need to factor a load?

For most loads, just two: the signed rate confirmation and proof of delivery. That is the rate con and the BOL or POD. Some brokers also ask for a signed delivery receipt. Integra walks every new client through exactly what their specific broker mix needs.

Do I have to factor every load?

No. You pick the customers you fund.Integra offers choosing which customers to fund with no volume minimums. Factor the customers that make sense for your cash flow and leave the rest on standard terms.

How fast does Integra fund freight invoices?

Same business day, when complete paperwork is in before the 1:00 p.m. CT cutoff.Submit before 1:00 p.m. CT Monday through Friday and Integra funds the same business day. Initial account setup is a one-time process. All funding is subject to initial application approval.

Can I factor if I have a new authority?

Yes. New authorities can be approved from day one.Factoring is underwritten on your customers’ credit, not your operating history, so a brand-new authority is not a barrier. More for new authorities.

What does freight factoring cost?

A competitive rate we tailor to your situation, quoted before you sign anything. The rate depends on your lane mix, volume, and broker credit. There are no application fees and no per-invoice charges, and the full rate is disclosed up front. See how Integra prices freight factoring.

What happens if a broker doesn’t pay? (Recourse vs. non-recourse)

You can check any broker’s credit in the portal before you haul, so you know they pay before you commit a truck.Under recourse factoring, if a broker does not pay within the agreed window the invoice comes back to you. Under non-recourse, Integra absorbs the loss if a previously-approved broker becomes insolvent. Integra offers both, and gives you free broker credit checks in the portal to keep you off bad payers. Recourse vs. non-recourse, explained.

Can I switch from my current factoring company?

Yes. Integra coordinates the buyout with your current factor for you. This is called a factor buyout. Your account manager handles the payoff and the notice-of-assignment transfer so your funding keeps running without a gap. What a factor buyout involves.

Can I check broker credit before I haul?

Yes — it’s free in the Integra portal.Once you’re a client, you can check any broker’s credit yourself in the portal whenever you want, so you know they pay before you commit a truck. It is one of the simplest ways to avoid a slow-pay. Check a broker’s credit.
