Power-line clearance A/R funding

Power-line clearance A/R funding. For the crews on the recurring contracts.

Power-line clearance A/R funding turns the invoices you bill to an electric utility, a cooperative or a line-clearance prime for routine trimming, removal and right-of-way work into immediate working capital, so crews, bucket trucks and chippers are covered while you wait on their payment cycle.

What power-line clearance A/R funding is

The circuit is trimmed. The invoice is still in the prime’s accounts payable.

Power-line clearance A/R funding, also called invoice factoring, is the sale of an approved invoice for completed line-clearance or right-of-way work in exchange for an immediate cash advance. You receive a large portion of the invoice up front, and the remainder (less one fee) when your customer pays. A/R funding isn’t a loan.

Utilities trim on multi-year cycles and contract most of it to a small number of primes, who subcontract regional crews by circuit, by mile or by crew-day. The utility pays the prime on its terms; the prime pays you on its own, often after the utility pays. A/R funding closes that gap on the work you have already completed, circuit by circuit.

Why line clearance is built for A/R funding

Steady work. Slow money.

Line clearance is the most predictable receivable in tree work: recurring utility contracts, strong account debtors and documented units. It is also the slowest to turn into cash, because the invoice passes through a prime’s review and the utility’s payment cycle before it reaches you.

Meanwhile climbers, foremen, bucket trucks, chippers, fuel and insurance run weekly whether the prime has paid or not. Integra advances on the invoices you have already earned, without adding debt or pledging your fleet.

How power-line clearance A/R funding works at Integra

From invoice to funded, same day.

A/R funding is not a loan. You are advancing cash on invoices you have already earned — not borrowing against them.

01
Step 1

Apply and get approved

Submit the short form. Approval depends primarily on your customers’ credit: the utility, prime, county or agency you bill. Free credit checks confirm your customers before you commit.

02
Step 2

Onboarding and setup

You provide standard documents and sign the agreement. We send a notice of assignment to each customer as your contract requires (for federal contracts, under the Assignment of Claims rules in FAR 32.8), set up your account, and introduce your specialists.

03
Step 3

Submit invoices, get paid

Upload approved invoices with the unit sheets, circuit sign-offs or crew-day reports your customer pays on. We verify and advance the funds the same business day when submitted before the cutoff. Your customer pays Integra on its own terms; you receive the remainder less one fee.

Why line-clearance contractors choose Integra

A bank division that understands utility and prime billing.

01

Built for subcontractors to the large primes

We fund subcontractors to the major line-clearance primes, subject to the prime’s subcontract terms and its acknowledgment of the assignment. We review the payment clause, any pay-when-paid language and the unit documentation your customer pays on before the first advance.

Notices of assignment go to the right office in the form your contract requires.

02

Backed by bank capital, not an outside line

Your facility is backed by bank capital, not an outside credit line that tightens when one prime makes up most of your receivables.

Federal regulatory oversight and bank-examination standards are not typical of an independent A/R funding company.

03

Set up for the contract year, funded every cycle

Setup is a one-time step. Once the facility is in place you invoice into it every cycle, and concentration in a single utility or prime is reviewed at setup rather than at the first large invoice.

No volume minimums, and you choose which invoices to fund.

Common questions

Answers to your power-line clearance A/R funding questions.

The questions we hear most from line-clearance contractors. If yours is not here, call Mark directly.

What is power-line clearance A/R funding?

Power-line clearance A/R funding is the sale of an approved invoice for completed line-clearance or right-of-way work in exchange for an immediate cash advance. You receive a large portion of the invoice up front and the remainder, less one fee, when your customer pays. It is not a loan.

I subcontract to a large line-clearance prime. Can you fund those invoices?

In many cases, yes. We fund subcontractors to the major line-clearance primes, subject to the prime’s subcontract terms and its acknowledgment of the assignment. We review the payment clause and the prime’s credit before setting up the facility.

Do you fund invoices to electric utilities and cooperatives directly?

Yes. Approval depends primarily on your customer’s credit, and an investor-owned utility, cooperative or municipal system is usually a strong account debtor. We run a free credit check on each customer and review the contract’s assignment and payment terms at setup.

One prime is most of my receivables. Is that a problem?

It is reviewed at setup, not discovered later. Concentration in a single strong account debtor is common in line clearance; we look at the prime’s credit and your contract terms and structure the facility accordingly.

What do I need to submit with each invoice?

Usually the invoice plus the support your customer pays on, such as approved unit sheets, crew-day reports, circuit sign-offs or timesheets. We confirm the exact package with you at setup.

How much does power-line clearance A/R funding cost?

Pricing is a custom quote. It depends mainly on who your customers are, how long they take to pay and your invoice volume. Reach out with a few details and have your A/R aging and customer list handy; that is everything a custom quote needs. No obligation.
